An all boys school in Preston has retained its ‘outstanding rating’ after impressing Ofsted with its “exceptionally high standards”
Eden Boys’ School, in Adelaide Street, Fishwick, received the top rating following an inspection in May. In Ofsted’s report, inspectors highlighted the excellent behaviour, respectful pupils and highly knowledgeable teachers.
Among other aspects, they praised the schoolâs ambitious curriculum, the supportive and encouraging culture and the âimpressively strong sense of common purposeâ, stating that pupils and staff are âUnited in their aim for each member of the school community to be the best that they can be.â

The school, which has has an Islamic ethos and welcomes pupils of all faiths and none, is part of the Star Academies multi-academy trust and also received an Outstanding rating at its last inspection in 2018.
On the quality of education provided, inspectors spoke highly of the schoolâs âimpactful strategiesâ stating that it “provides an education of exceptional quality and richness”.
The report concludes that âpupils flourish in this calm and welcoming haven of learningâ and that ‘the schoolâs work to develop pupilsâ character is exemplary.â

The schoolâs principal, Nafisa Patel, said: âThis recognition from Ofsted is a product of the hard work and dedication displayed by every member of our school community on a daily basis. It is particularly pleasing that the inspectors praised our pupilsâ respectful behaviour, their high levels of attainment and their positive relationships with our staff.
âWe are grateful to our parents and carers for the trust they place in us, and to our talented staff for their unwavering commitment to our pupilsâ learning. We will continue to build on our âoutstandingâ status to ensure that we provide the best possible education and opportunities to enable our pupils to flourish.â
