City boxer Scott Fitzgerald on the run as police issue appeal

A well-known boxer from Preston has gone on the run.

Preston Police have released an appeal calling for the public not to approach Scott Fitzgerald.

The 32-year-old is wanted for wounding with intent.

He is described as 5’9″, stocky, with short, dark brown, wavy hair.

Anyone who sees Fitzgerald is asked not to approach him and call 999 immediately.

For any non-immediate sightings or anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or email 363@lancashire.police.uk

Police say Fitzgerald has links ‘across the city’.

The former super-welter weight champion was found not guilty of rape in February after a trial at Preston Crown Court.

Last month he announced his intention to return to the ring in the coming months.
