An embattled micropub whose property was seized by its landlord last month has reopened.

Tulketh Tap Room was forced to close down when building owner Kenilson Properties reclaimed both its Tulketh Brow property and neighbouring Clockwork Bistro. The latter has since announced plans to host a Sunday roast at Taps and Wine Bar next week while it awaits the resolution of the lease issue.

Ray Woods, owner of Tulketh Tap Room, had hoped to open much sooner but has now been able to welcome punters back in. It comes at a time when the bar is facing a licensing review which was raised by Lancashire Constabulary over alleged issues of crime and disorder.

The public consultation period of that review has now finished but no hearing date has yet been set. The bar announced its reopening with a Facebook post during Friday 14 June which also said it was under new management. Blog Preston understands this change was already being considered in an effort to assure licensing bosses that the bar could operate safely.

The post said: “We’re glad to announce that we have officially re-opened today under new management. Our doors are open and just in time for the Euros we will be playing the Germany Scotland match.

“The bar is all stocked up with a wide range of drinks and we hope to see you all over the weekend have a good one.”
