Crowdfund Lancashire will open its summer funding round next month on the 12th June and closes on 12th September. The funding has helped finance more than 100 culture and sports projects since it launched in 2022.

Crowdfund Lancashire is developed by Lancashire County Council in partnership with Spacehive, the UK’s leading community fundraising platform. This exciting initiative helps to support grassroot culture and sports projects across Lancashire.

The Birley – an artist led studios and project space based in Preston city centre – raised £28,307 for their ‘Bringing New Art to Preston’ project.

Rob Mullender-Ross from The Birley said: “The work we have achieved in the last year has put us in better standing and given us greater visibility within the city, helping us to maintain a foothold within the ‘Harris Quarter’ of the city – now being developed by the council into the city’s main cultural neighbourhood.

He continued: “This program of exhibitions and events has provided us with a platform from which we can now credibly fundraise in the future.

Blog Preston took part in the crowdfunding initiative scheme and managed to raise £5000 to fund increased coverage in the cities arts and culture coverage – which you can see here and our new look what’s on section will be launching soon.

Co-editor Kate Rosendale said: “Thank you to everyone who has supported by pledging, no matter how big or small.”

“We will take this opportunity really seriously and use this money to make a difference for as many people as possible when it comes to accessing arts, culture and events in the city.”

County Councillor Peter Buckley, cabinet member for Community and Cultural Services, said: “Crowdfund Lancashire and the culture and sport projects it supports has already made a significant impact to the lives of people living throughout the county.

If you have an idea that will improve the culture or sport offer in your community, you could get up to £15,000 towards your target. These can be exiting projects that will benefit from funding or simply ideas that you want turn into reality.

Anyone interested in launching a project finding out how to launch a crowdfunding campaign is invited to attend the online summer round launch event.
