Preston Pedals, a group set up to encourage people in Preston to get on their bikes for everyday journeys and save bikes from landfill, have a packed schedule of free events lined up over the next two months.

“The events are all funded by Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival,” said Julie Ridley, Preston Pedals’ coordinator. “Big Bike Revival events run all over the UK to encourage people to start cycling or revive a love of cycling. Events offer opportunities to get cycles fixed, learn new skills or take part in a local led ride.

“We have also added some adult and child events, in response to hearing from families at our open events saying they needed help with checking their children’s bikes as well as their own.  We hope to give them more confidence in getting out on their bikes as a family.”
