Pensioner in ‘serious condition’ in hospital after being hit by motorbike in Hutton crash

A woman in her 80s remains in hospital after being hit by a motorcycle in Hutton.

South Ribble Police were called to the A59 Liverpool Road at 4.24pm on Thursday 6 June.

A Benelli BN125 motorcycle had collided with a pedestrian – on the stretch of Liverpool Road between Lindle Lane and the Hickory’s Smokehouse, close to the Lancashire Police headquarters.

Police say the pedestrian, a woman in her 80s from Hutton, has head and leg injuries. She remains in hospital in a ‘serious but stable’ condition.

The rider of the motorbike was not injured. No arrests have been made at this stage.

Sergeant Joe Ghigi, from the Specialist Operations Team, said: “This collision has left a woman with serious injuries. Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to the collision and I would ask anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact the police as soon as possible.”
