Fire involving waste tackled at Preston Docks

A building near Preston Docks was secured by firefighters following a fire early on Saturday (8 June) morning.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Wesham, Bamber Bridge, Chorley and Leyland to deal with the fire in Wallend Road, Ashton-on-Ribble.

The fire took place around 7.30am on Saturday.

The fire service said a commercial building ‘containing a large quantity of waste’ was made safe by fire crews.
