Boy, 13, charged with Fulwood lollipop man attack

Police are continuing to appeal for footage or information related to this scrambler bike

A teenage boy has been charged with an attack on a lollipop man in Fulwood.

A 13-year-old boy from Preston – who cannot be named for legal reasons – is due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court during Monday (17 June) charged with section 18 – causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police appealed for witnesses after a lollipop man, in his 70s, was attacked in Black Bull Lane, Fulwood, following an incident with a scrambler bike. He was taken to hospital with fractured ribs.

The attack took place at 3.34pm on Wednesday 12 June.

Preston Police say a 15-year-old boy from Preston has also been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and CCTV, dashcam or video footage from the incident.

A police spokesperson said:” We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or video footage from around the time of this incident that could help us.

“We are also appealing for information on the whereabouts of the scrambler-style bike pictured, in connection with our investigation.

“We know that people will be appalled by the news of this assault, but we want to reassure you that we continue to have a dedicated team of officers investigating.”
