Two men to appear in court charged with Lea stabbing

Two men have been charged after a 37-year-old man was stabbed in Lea.

The pair will appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Friday (3 May) morning following the incident in the Ashford Road area of Ashton-on-Ribble around 6am on Wednesday 1 May.

Daniel Herd, 28, of Landsdown Hill, Fulwood, is charged with section-18 wounding, possession of a blade and possession of an offensive weapon.

Richard Dimelow, 31, of Blackpool Road, is charged with section-18 wounding and possession of a blade.

The 37-year-old man remains in hospital being treated for stab wounds with police saying his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the report of men fighting in Lea and Savick in Birkdale Drive and Ashford Road.
