A teenager from Preston has taken part in her first-ever Judo competition, securing gold in all categories, and winning all of her contests.
Jade Bostock, 14, from Preston, attended the Richard Lloyd Memorial Judo Competition last month, at Newton-Le-Willows, a prestigious charity event which raised over ÂŁ1,500 for Claire House Childrenâs Hospital.
Jade trains at the Kaidokan Judo Academy in Blackpool, a ‘community hub supporting everyone, all ages, genders, abilities and disabilities.â

After her success, she was invited to compete in the higher division, where she met a girl eight grades higher, and even won that competition.
The event was made extra special for Jade, being her grandfather, Alanâs 81st birthday. Over 50 years ago Alan trained in Preston as a black belt.
As well as Jade, the whole team from the academy took away medals.Â

A group of 14 competitors, 10 children and four adults, secured seven gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
Ross Goodwin, âproudâ coach, said he is âthrilled with everyoneâs individual performancesâ and is âexcited for the future.â
