A woman has set up a local walk in Preston to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young charity (CRY).
Ann Coles started fundraising for free heart screenings for people aged between 14 and 35 years old, after her son, Andrew collapsed and died suddenly in 1997, waiting at a bus stop with friends.
Usually doing the London Bridge Memorial Walk, Ann has decided to walk in Preston instead on the same day to raise awareness.

The trek will take place on 23 June, starting at 10am at The Continental who do ‘a great Sunday roast’ and then looping back around.
Ann said: “If you’ve been affected by SADS (sudden arrhythmic death syndrome) or you just want to support this wonderful charity please come and enjoy a riverside walk, have a chat share memories and end with a drink and maybe lunch.
“Avenham Park also has a great cafe, or just bring a picnic.
“Hope to see you on the day, CRY supporters already have a bond let’s make it stronger and have a good turnout, raising awareness is key.”

Dogs are welcome and there will be a tombola outside in the beer garden, weather permitting.
Ann has a page on Facebook alongside other parents and grandparents, providing details on heart screenings and fundraising events. They had their latest screening last Sunday at Preston Grasshoppers, where 110 young people were screened.
CRY funds specialist referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.
