A bus route serving Ashton-on-Ribble as well as key villages in the western side of Preston and into Fylde is to remain.
Blackpool Transport had announced it was handing back the 74 and 75 bus route this summer.
A new operator – Archway Travel – has been confirmed as taking on the route which goes from Preston Bus Station to Fleetwood.

There are minimal changes to the timetable as a result of the new operator coming in.
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council told Blog Preston: “Blackpool Transport gave formal notice to terminate their contract with us from 17 August 2024 for bus service 74/75.
“A new contract to continue to operate the service has been awarded to Archway Travel, who are based in Fleetwood and are one of our long-standing service providers.
“Archway Travel will take over operation from 18 August 2024. There will be no changes to the route or timetable, other than a couple of early morning/later evening journeys which start/finish in Poulton extending to Fleetwood. Archway Travel will be acquiring new vehicles for the routes.”
A spokesperson for Archway Travel said: “The only thing we want to change is the colour of the buses.
“Same excellent service, same friendly drivers and same convenient timetable.”
