The route for the city’s Caribbean Carnival has been confirmed.
Update: Organisers said on Wednesday a scaled-back route is being used
Marking 50 years of the carnival the route for the city’s flagship procession will include Friargate again.
Setting off from Moor Park, where the carnival parade starts and finishes, around 12noon is the start time on Sunday 26 May.

The route takes in Deepdale Road, Church Street, along the Flag Market and then into the new look Friargate.
It will continue up by the University’s Adelphi Square before heading up Moor Lane and Garstang Road to return to Moor Park via Moor Park Avenue.
The parade is expected to take around three hours to complete and there will be rolling road closures throughout the procession.
