Man stabbed in chest at entrance to Miller Park

A man has been stabbed in the chest near Avenham and Miller Park.

Preston Police have closed off the entrance to the park from West Cliff.

A police presence has been in place since shortly after 9.30am on Friday (17 May).

A man, in his 40s, was found with serious injuries to his chest and has been taken to hospital to treatment.

Police say his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and remains in custody.

The West Cliff entrance to the park remains closed off.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 0323 of 17 May 2024.
