A youth-led skatepark in Leyland is holding a fundraising event this weekend, aiming to raise money to improve facilities and make the park more accessible.
The indoor skatepark, on Talbot Road, is looking to modernise and refurbish the facility so they can ‘continue to promote physical activity, mental wellbeing and creativity for the local community’.
The group have set up a Crowd Funding page, looking to raise over £35,000 – they have already achieved 70 per cent of their target.

Their fundraiser, on 18 May, will see scooter and skate coaching, pro-rider meet and greets as well as a demonstration from Wheelchair Motocross.
There will also be a live band, raffles and a fully licensed bar.
If the skatepark achieves its goal, it plans to build a cafe within the premises and create a social hub where children and parents can ‘relax, recharge and connect with others.’
