A child is to be questioned by police after an 11-year-old boy was shot in the head by an air gun in Leyland.
South Ribble Police launched an appeal following incident on Monday (20 May) evening.
It left the boy with a fractured skull and requiring surgery at Alder Hey children’s hospital.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Following a number of enquiries we have now identified someone of interest to our investigation and we will be speaking to them in due course. That person is another juvenile.”
The 11-year-old victim was hit in the head by a metal pellet when a ball went over a fence in a back garden of a house in Roadtrain Avenue, Leyland, around 7.20pm.
Detective Inspector Paul Mulrooney of South CID said: “I’m grateful to those who have come forward with information so far. We have now identified someone, and we will be speaking to that individual in due course. We are confident there is no wider risk to anyone in the community.
“Thankfully the victim’s injuries are not serious, and he is making a good recovery.”
