Lea roads shut down by police after 6am brawl and stabbing

Two roads in Preston were closed after police were called to a report of men fighting at 6am.

Officers from Lancashire Constabulary rushed to Ashford Road and Birkdale Drive in Lea this morning (1 May) and found a man with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening. Two men have been arrested by police and are in custody.

A spokesperson for police said: “Enquiries are ongoing but we believe this incident was isolated and targeted and there is no threat to the wider public.

“We would like to thank the public for their co-operation while we dealt with this complex and fast-moving incident.”
