Lea man charged with West Cliff stabbing

A man has been charged after a man was stabbed in the chest near Avenham and Miller Park on Friday morning.

Preston Police say Jack Sanderson, 31, of Charlesway Court, Lea Road, Lea, has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm.

Sanderson has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a Class A controlled drug – cocaine.

Police were called to the scene in West Cliff to find a man in his 40s had suffered serious injuries to his chest and arm. The victim has now been released from hospital.

Sanderson is due to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court during Monday (20 May).
