An iconic Preston pub is staying open and having a major refit.
The Dog and Partridge in Friargate has temporarily closed to allow for scaffolding to be put up.
Rumours swirled during Thursday (2 May) as the pub had not opened the doors for the last 48-hours.

A spokesperson for Star Pubs, who own the pub, confirmed to Blog Preston it was not shutting.
They said: “The pub was closing for a few days for scaffolding to be erected for the pub to be redecorated.”
The pub is open and trading as normal while work to its frontage takes place.
Star Pubs decision to refurbish the pub comes as Friargate’s new pedestrianised look begins to take shape.
