Preston’s blissful Bank Holiday weather could see an abrupt end according to weather forecasters.
The Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning for Monday (6 May) onwards.
The yellow weather warning – the lowest in the Met Office’s severity – runs from 1pm through to 9pm.

They state ‘thunderstorms and heavy downpours may cause flooding and travel disruption’.
The warning comes as temperatures rise to nearly 20 degrees this week with regular sunny spells but with high humidity.
The yellow weather warning covers all of Preston, South Ribble and the majority of Lancashire.
