Arrest after person found walking dog on M6 at Preston

A driver has been arrested after walking their dog on the hard shoulder of the M6.

Lancashire Road Police were called in the early hours of Sunday (5 May) to reports of a pedestrian on the hard shoulder of the motorway near Preston.

During the incident shortly after 2am they found the owner of a broken down vehicle.

A police spokesperson said: “Pedestrian located said they had broken down after some defects with the car’s steering so decided to walk home.

“Arrested for drink driving and reported for no insurance.”
