A new slide which cost £110,000 has opened in Bamber Bridge.
South Ribble Borough Council have installed a new slide at Withy Grove Park, after the original centrepiece had to be removed completely in 2022.
In the summer of 2022, the popular play equipment was subject to two arson attacks in the space of two weeks, with parts of the structure being melted completely.

The new tower slide has eight levels, with over 30 features including two slides, climbing equipment, viewing platforms and a fireman’s pole.
The works were completed last week, with the slide now open to the public and capacity for 55 children to use it at one time.
South Ribble Borough Council was told that the original play feature, which was installed in 2007, was no longer manufactured so the cabinet had to choose a design from a range of options.
The cost has been covered by the council’s insurers.
Blog Preston approached South Ribble Borough Council for a comment however, due to the pre-election period they could not provide one.
