A spokesperson for the county council said: “The surface has been damaged by all the wet weather we’ve been having over the winter and we need to carry out this maintenance to make the road safe.
“There’ll be a signed diversion in place via Watling Street Road, Garstang Road and Blackpool Road while the closure is in place. Entrance and access to the Sainsbury superstore via Blackpool Rd will not be affected.
“We’re sorry for any disruption to your journeys on Saturday morning. If you’ll be travelling in this area please plan your journey accordingly.
“Thanks for your patience while we carry out this vital work.”
