A family have paid tribute to a teenager who died in hospital after a crash between Garstang and Preston.

Ellis Gibbs has been named as the 17-year-old biker who died.

His mother Zoe told Blog Preston: “He was so hard working, loving, funny and was adored by his friends.”

She said in a further statement on Facebook: “On Wednesday afternoon my son Ellis was involved in a road traffic accident in Catterall and sadly yesterday [Thursday] we had to make the horrendous decision to turn off his life support.

“Ellis was 17 and such a gorgeous boy, loved by everyone, he was full of life, loving, funny and very hardworking.

Zoe, who runs the Coco Ladieswear Garstang boutique, said the shop had remained open as “that’s what Ellis would have wanted.”

Ellis had been working as an apprentice landscaper at Wyre Gardens.

His friend George Eastham has launched a GoFundMe page in memory of his friend and it has nearly reached its £3,000 target in less than 24-hours.

George said: “He will never be forgotten and his family and friends will always miss the greatness he brought to this world.”
