The Smile Dental Clinic has closed its doors, it has been announced.
It was no April Fool for dental patients in Deepdale as they received emails detailing their dentist in Deepdale had closed.
The announcement said “in the interim” patients would be able to go to the Deepdale Dental Centre instead.
However, it noted they understood this may not suit all patients so those who wish to go somewhere else can use one of their other dental services within Preston.

The statement said: “Regrettably, we must share the news that our current facility, The Smile Clinic located at PR1 6PZ, will cease operations effective April 1, 2024.
“In the interim, we are pleased to continue serving your dental needs at Deepdale Dental Centre, located at 73 St Gregory Road, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 6YA.”
They added: “Understanding that this change may not be convenient for everyone, we are prepared to offer our dental services at one of our alternate locations within Preston.”
The Smile group has also been announced a new facility called Fulwood Dental Centre situated at Springfield Gardens, in Garstang Road, will be opening in July.
A spokesperson from The Smile Group said: “Though we closed our doors at DHC on April 1, 2024, this is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
“For the next three months we will continue serving our dental patient needs at our Deepdale Dental Centre on St Gregory Road, Preston PR1 6YA).
“Then, starting July 1st, we’re moving our brand-new location with state-of-the-art facilities and 9 surgery rooms to Fatima Health Centre (Springfield Garden, 228 Garstang Road, Fulwood, Preston PR2 9QB). This new practice will be outfitted with the latest in dental technology and amenities.
We are excited about this change that allow us to enhance the dental care we provide to our Preston community.”
