A day of day of empowering discussions, workshops, and activities dedicated to women’s health and wellbeing is set to take place in Preston.
The free event is being hosted by new not-for-profit EmpowerHer Lancashire, in collaboration with The Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB.
It follows an inaugural event by TRibeFitness Womens Fitness and Development Centre, which took place in November last year and led to the creation of EmpowerHer.

The event will consist of 15-minute lightning talks on topics such as menopause, nutrition, sexual health, cancer support, fertility, mental wellbeing and fitness.
Medical and holistic professionals and services will be exhibiting and available to chat to attendees, plus there will be free classes and mini-treatments on offer. Food and drink will be on offer throughout the day.
There will also be chance to connect with fellow attendees, share experiences, and become part of a supportive community of women who prioritise their health and wellbeing.

Lyn Clement, Director of EmpowerHer, said: “During the course of the female life there are many hormonal upheavals and as women the more we know about them the more we can prepare for them so they don’t cause disruption and irreversible damage
“Understanding the fine balance between nutrition, physical activity and health is absolutely paramount and the event will provide a lot of helpful information. The earlier in the women’s life this understanding occurs the better results.
“By creating an opportunity for the public to meet professionals, barriers will be broken down and all attendees will be enriched with information that can lead them to make more positive choices for themselves and their families – helping to understand not only when to seek advice but also how to self-manage effectively and safely.”
The EmpowerHer Women’s Health and Wellbeing event will take place on Saturday 27 April from 9.30am to 4pm at Preston Technology Centre in Marsh Lane near the city centre.
