A man from Preston is running a 200-mile ultra-marathon to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Ben Hardman is aiming to complete the challenge in under 60 hours, starting on 11 April from his home in Bamber Bridge, to fundraise to help those in need.
Ben is doing the mega marathon to thank the hospice for the help they have given to his relatives, and to push his own physical and mental limits to the maximum.

He said: “The pain I’m going to go through during this event is nothing compared to those battling life-threatening illnesses on the daily.
“I hope this inspires people to push their limits as well and do things they thought they could only dream of doing.
Ben has already hit his fundraising target of £1,000 but is hoping to raise as much as he can.

In 2019, Ben also took on a 10km race at Worden Park in South Ribble to raise money for Breast Cancer Care in the hope of supporting his mum who was battling cancer at the time.
St Catherine’s Hospice in Preston provides end-of-life care to patients across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble who are affected by life-shortening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure.
