New Aldi at Preston Docks opens with queues of shoppers

Preston’s newest Aldi is now open at the city’s Docks.

On the Trident retail park at Port Way the discount supermarket opened the doors at 8am on Thursday (25 April) to a queue of eager shoppers.

Olympic bronze medal winning cyclist Josie Knight joined shoppers to cut the ribbon and formally open the supermarket.

Around 40 jobs have been created or transferred by Aldi moving to the retail park after closing the Corporation Street store. It traded for a final time on Wednesday (24 April).

The Port Way Aldi is open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
