Marks and Spencers building in Fishergate getting a facelift

The outside of one of Preston city centre’s most prominent shops is getting a facelift.

Marks and Spencers have scaffolding and hoardings up as they undertake work on their flagship Fishergate store.

A spokesperson for the national clothing and supermarket chain confirmed to Blog Preston there were maintenance works taking place along with the façade of the building being cleaned.

The M&S store is remaining open throughout the work.

The retailer had announced plans to scale back its stores, closing dozens over the next five years. There are no plans for any M&S closures in Preston.
