Major rail disruption between Preston and Wigan North Western

Passengers attempting to use the West Coast Main Line from Preston are seeing major disruption.

Network Rail say the line is due to see major disruption throughout the rest of Monday due to damaged overhead cables at Coppull.

All services between Preston and Wigan North Western are cancelled or revised.

Engineers are on site at Coppull to repair the damage but the disruption is expected throughout Monday (29 April).
