Work has started on St David’s Church in Eldon Street after it was demolished following a fire.
It’s thought that the site will be turned into a supported living development after plans were approved in December 2021.
The development is due to see 14 units for independent living created, with communal areas and a secure outdoor space.

Instead of on-street parking bays, there will be four off-street parking spaces accessed from Inkerman Street.
The development comes after the church was demolished following a fire in October 2022.
A body was found at the scene of the fire. In the wake of the fire, local shopkeeper Nimesh Patel told Blog Preston he believed people had been living in the building.
