The 43 and 44 services will have a change to their routes to avoid this closure. Information about the change to bus routes can be found on the Preston Bus website.
A United Utilities spokesperson told Blog Preston: “We are carrying out a £20m sewer improvement project to increase capacity in the sewer network serving Cottam and Woodplumpton. This vital investment will create a more resilient wastewater network which is designed to deal with growing demand as new property developments are proposed and constructed in the area.
“The project will see 4km of sewers being increased in size, including those along Hoyles Lane. While access to properties and public footpaths will be maintained, because the road is narrow it is necessary to close it for through traffic to enable works to be carried out safely. Temporary bus stops have been arranged for the 44 bus route.
“We know no-one likes roadworks and we have worked closely with local residents holding information sessions and delivering leaflets to make sure everyone knows what is happening. Our on-site team will be working hard to keep disruption to a minimum and we thank people for their patience.”
