Three set of roadworks had been ongoing between Tag Lane and Tulketh Brow causing major disruption – but one has now been completed.
Temporary traffic lights were causing significant delays at a major Ashton-on-Ribble junction.
Upgrades to traffic lights between Tulketh Brow and Lane Ends meant the public were seeing delays of more than half-an-hour to their usual journey times.

Preston Bus said the temporary lights between the two junctions had been causing delays to the 31,35,44 and 46 services. The 48 bus service is also being affected.
There are also further delays on the other side of Lane Ends, up Woodplumpton Road, with Electricity North West putting two-way signals in place outside the substation at 161 Woodplumpton Road. These are in place until the end of March.
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: “We are currently replacing traffic light signals at two locations in Preston. The existing equipment has become unreliable due to its age, and this investment will ensure the signals are reliable, and cost less to maintain in the future.
“Temporary traffic lights are in place to allow the work to be carried out safely.
“The work ongoing at the Tom Benson Way/Tulketh Brow junction was completed this Wednesday (March 20) when we’re planning to begin operating the new signals.
“We’re grateful for people’s patience while we make this investment to make their journeys more reliable, and are sorry for any short-term disruption as a result of the temporary traffic management.”

Work is still ongoing by Cadent at Tag Lane with work there continuing until May on major gas works and Woodplumpton Road roadworks are also still in place.
A further set of traffic light works have begun this week at a busy junction at Watling Street Road on the Fulwood and Deepdale border.
And United Utilities announced there will be a seven month closure of a section of Hoyles Lane and Sidgreaves Lane for major sewer upgrades.
