Preston Rotary Club has donated £12,000 to Let’s Grow Preston.
The Rotary Club of Preston Guild decided to support Let’s Grow Preston after hearing of the difficulties the group were having collecting and delivering food items and produce to community groups and food banks across Preston.
Rotary President Steve Ashcroft said: “We were delighted to be able to support Let’s Grow Preston with the largest grant we have ever made, we were impressed to hear of the work carried out across Preston and wanted to do our bit in helping families who are struggling.
“By co-funding the van along with the Keir Foundation, we know we’ll be helping thousands of people and especially children.”

With the support of Costain and Preston City Deal, the club raised the funds by holding 10k and 5k runs along the new Edith Rigby Way in October 2022.
Steve added: “We’d like to thank the 695 runners who entered and raised around £18,000 in total for local charities, in what was possibly the wettest day of the year.”
The Rotary Club of Preston has around 30 members drawn from across the Preston area, who meets each Friday for breakfast at 7.30am in the morning at Scholars Restaurant in the UCLan Foster Building.
The club supports a whole host of charities and community organisations, both at home and overseas.
Following on from the club’s gift, Let’s Grow Preston’s Director Annie Winn said: “We’re extremely grateful for the help given to us in a number of ways by the Rotary Club and we look forward to a long and fruitful
partnership with them.”
