Police shut M65 at Bamber Bridge due to crash

The M65 was shut eastbound at Bamber Bridge due to a crash.

Lancashire Police and emergency services were called to the scene just after 7.30pm on Wednesday (13 March).

The motorway was shut from Junction 2 (Bamber Bridge) where the M61 slip road is and Junction 3 (Hoghton). The M65 remained open westbound.

There are delays from the M6 junction with the M65 in an eastbound direction.

Highways England reopened the motorway around 6am on Thursday (14 March).

Motorists who were driving in the area have reported difficult driving conditions due to torrential rain on Wednesday evening.
