A man from Preston has published a book about the city’s history to the present day, highlighting significant events and people.
Keith Johnson, released ‘Preston: A Potted History’ this month, where he had a book signing and session at Preston Waterstones.
In the book, Keith exposes the city’s heritage, taking a journey from the earliest times, right up to Present day.

From monks and monasteries, to preachers and parsons, he looks at all those who have contributed to the growth of the place.
Topics include Preston’s people and their progress, transport and trade, industry and innovations, education and entertainment, as well as political and military conflicts.
Author Keith Johnson has many other successful books about Preston’s history. He has also published ‘Preston – Reflections’ and ‘Celebrating Preston,’ a book which celebrates local life and community and ‘Preston at Work’ to name just a few.

In his book, Keith sends his acknowledgements to The Harris Community Library, as well as “the newspaper reporters of the past, who in chronicling the events of their day, left a valuable legacy.”
Keith has also contributed articles on local history to the Lancashire Evening Post for the last fifteen years, and is a member of the Crime Writers ssociation and the Lancashire Authors Association, currently living in Preston.
