Preston band Mobius Loop are set to swap festival stages for an intimate indoor gig at The Continental.
The band, formed in 2008, will launch their new album Dance While You Can on Friday 5 April at the Broadgate pub’s Boatyard performance space. Tickets are available on Skiddle.
Described as a family folk band with a twist, Mobius Loop are made up of award-winning songwriting duo Alexander and Rose Orion, with their brother and internationally renowned percussionist Sean O’Hara.
The Conti gig represents a full-circle homecoming for the band who began in Preston 16 years ago.
While starting out, the band took the unusual step of doing a Music Practice degree at the University of Central Lancashire. During this time they studied experimental and world music practices and refined their musical expressions. The trio graduated with first class honours.
Since then, Mobius Loop have headlined dozens of festival main stages performing their foot-stomping, rebel folk grooves, fusing rap, ska, reggae, gypsy-jazz and psychedelic folk music to thousands of people every year.

In 2023, they were lauded at Green Gathering Festival, with organiser Em Weirdigan saying: “Mobius Loop have it all: spine-tingling voices, irresistible beats, glorious costumes and a theatrical presence… all adding up to a fantastically spectacular show audiences can’t help but sing, soar, cry, laugh and dance along to.
“Mobius Loop filled the Green Gathering’s Floating Lotus venue to capacity, left everyone danced-out and blissed-out. We named them our most exciting new act.”
The performance is the first purely music gig promoted by local events organisers Enjoy the Show. Previously the performance promoter has worked with cross-platform music and theatre shows.

Enjoy the Show’s Garry Cook said: “I’ve been asked quite a few times to promote bands but have always turned them down.
“I’ve seen Mobius Loop a few times, including an unforgettable pop-up outdoor gig in Miller Park in 2018 where I particularly remember chocolate brownie cake being handed out to the audience. That was when I realised this band were special.
“So when they contacted me to help promote them, it was a no brainer. Who wouldn’t want to be involved with one of Preston’s most exciting bands in a generation?”
