A man has been arrested for dangerous driving, and other offences, after fleeing from police in Leyland.
Officers attempted to engage with the driver of a purple Ford Fiesta while it was at the traffic lights on Church Road yesterday (March 26). The incident began at around 10.25am.
The car was stationary and heading towards the motorway at the time, according to police. The 23-year-old driver drove away when he realised it was the police attempting to engage him.

His vehicle was involved in a crash at the junction of Church Road and Canberra Road soon after. The Fiesta was heavily damaged.
The driver reportedly fled the scene down Langdale Road and Borrowdale Road before being detained by a police officer and a member of the public.
The 23-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving as well as multiple driving offences, criminal damage and possession with intent to supply Class A controlled substances. He has been interviewed and since been placed on bail.
