A man from Kirkham is flipping a 226kg tyre 10,000 times on Preston’s Flag Market, in collaboration with The Spud Brothers, to raise funds for vital treatment.

Update: Bill has completed his challenge

Bill Hodgson, who has completed crazy challenges for charities over the years, is raising money for Jordan Jones, 26, from Kirkham who has a brain tumour which has led to more health problems.

Starting on 22 March, Bill will flip the tyre for over 24 hours, hoping to raise donations to go towards Jordan’s Avastin treatment to reduce the swelling on her brain, a procedure which is not available on the NHS.

TikTok stars, The Spud Brothers, have pledged to stay open for 24 hours while the challenge takes place, donating any money made on the day to the cause.

Jordan’s tumour has resulted in a stroke, loss of sight, mobility problems and seizures. As she continues to fight, the treatment is vital to reduce swelling in her brain and improve her daily life.

Each round of treatment costs £3,000 so Bill and the brothers are hoping to raise as much as possible.

He said: “I did the Santa’s Slog at Christmas and someone mentioned Jordan to me, we just want to help her out and make sure she has a better life.

“It will be great to raise money and it’s all about getting people together, if you’re in the area and want to see a man suffer, come down and be a part of it.

“I’ve done a 24-hour tyre flip before, but not as heavy as this, it’ll take a lot of mental preparation”

The challenge is due to start at 11 am on Friday (22 March), with The Spud Brothers getting involved with activities on the day too.

Jacob Nelson, one-half of the brothers said: “We always want to do good in the world.

“When Bill approached us to help out, we thought we could use our social media to spread the word.”

You can donate to Jordan’s GoFundMe page here.
