A key road through Penwortham was closed this morning after a crash in the early hours of the morning.
Police were called to the scene of a crash at around 1.57am this morning (March 28). They confirmed at around 6.15am that the road closure remains in place. The road was reopened at around 7.20am with traffic taking some time to clear.
Witness reports indicated that the road was closed in the direction heading towards Preston. This is from the roundabout at Leyland Road heading towards Port Way.

A spokesperson for police said overnight: “We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on Golden Way in Penwortham.
“The road is closed due to a road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.”
