Thousands of pounds has been raised in memory of a four-year-old boy who died while riding his bike in Ingol.
Named as ‘Jayden’ the boy died after being hit by a Citroen Relay minibus in New Rough Hey.
Friends and family are now rallying around to support his parents – Gemma and Iaran.
Set up by Beka Smith, a friend of the Ingol family, she said on the GoFundMe page: “Our community was hit with the saddest, most heartbreaking news, that little Jayden had gained his beautiful Angel wings, after a tragic incident.
“We are all absolutely devastated for the family and want to help in anyway possible.
“We have discussed and received permission from family, that a Go Fund Me, page can be created to help Gemma and Iaran, through this most difficult time of their life’s.
“No parent, should have to face this heartbreak. And, especially not one of our own. A local boy, who was loved by all his family and friends, and his little friends on the street.
“You will be missed little man. Grief can be isolating, and a very scary place, we want Little Jayden’s parent’s, sister and the rest of the family to know that, we stand with them.
“New Rough Hey and the rest of the Preston people – stand with you.
“No amount of money, will help with the loss of their little boy. But, what it will do is help towards the financial impact this family may face & giving Jayden the most beautiful send off he deserves.
“I hope you’ll all join with us, and do as much as you can.
“Your donation’s how ever big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
“Let’s show the love, and support to the family.”
Nearly £4,000 has been raised – as of Friday (29 March) – towards a target of £5,000 to help with funeral costs on the GoFundMe page.
Barons sandwich shop at Granton Walk in Ingol is holding a raffle to raise funds for Jayden’s family – while Leah Smith said a donation bucket is also being placed at the scene for those paying their respects to contribute to the fund.
Jayden was taken to hospital after the crash at 4.36pm on Tuesday (26 March) but later died from his injuries.
