A first look at the new Lancashire-based feature film ‘Reputation’ has been released.

The upcoming psychological crime drama is produced by Preston-based production company Factory Noir and is shot in the picturesque Ribble Valley.

North West born writer and director, Martin Law, has set up a crowdfunding campaign for the low-budget film – which is currently in post-production – along with some new images and a teaser trailer.

The trailer showcases actors James Nelson-Joyce and Kyle Rowe in a gritty realist setting which looks to be full of high-tension drama and uncomfortable situations.

Described as “an intimate look at loyalty, greed and power in Broken Britain”, the independent production is influenced by other realist crime dramas such as ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’, ‘Shooters’ and ‘Shifty’.

In the making for over 10 years and with few film funding opportunities in the UK, Martin is calling for help from the general public.

With his crowdfunding campaign, Martin wishes to raise £7,000 to fund an extra day of filming, as well as to help with post-production costs, marketing and festival fees.

The rewards given if a donation is made include a video call with Martin in which he will discuss the film and give feedback on any aspiring filmmaker’s scripts.

Other ways he says you can help the production are through “spreading the word by sharing with friends, family, and colleagues. Crowdfunding isn’t just about raising funds; it’s about raising the profile of the film.”

To donate you can visit Martin’s crowdfunder on the Greenlit website before it closes on Friday 22 March.
