A link road between Fulwood and Grimsargh is to remain shut until Wednesday (13 March).
United Utilities are continuing to work to repair a burst water main at D’urton Lane.
It means access in both directions is closed, although surrounding properties and Haighton Manor can still be accessed from the Grimsargh side via Whittingham Lane.

The burst water main was first reported around 4am on Monday 11 March.
A United Utilities spokesperson said: “Our teams are continuing work on site in the Durton Lane area of Preston. Following repairs to the water main, further necessary work has been identified which will continue today (12/03/24) and tomorrow (13/03/24).
“All customers have water although some may notice that pressure is a little lower than usual. We have tankers in the area to inject water into the network to help keep taps flowing while we carry out the repair, and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
