Dublin artist KEELEY is playing in Preston for the first time later this month.
KEELEY – fronted by singer, guitarist and songwriter Keeley Moss – appeared in indie-rock website Louder Than War’s ones to watch list for 2024.

After moving from her native Ireland to the UK, Keeley recruited former Morrissey drummer Andrew Paresi to her live band, which is completed by Lukey Foxtrot on bass and backing vocals.
The band’s songs are described as a unique blend of dreamrock and neo-psychedelic indie-rock, not unlike Keeley’s 90s heroes Lush, Ride and Super Furry Animals, but with a very contemporary twist.
All KEELEY’s songs are about teenage German backpacker, Inga Maria Hauser, who was brutally murdered in Northern Ireland in April 1988 and whose case remains unsolved despite many promising leads.
Inga Maria had been travelling around the UK when it happened, and Preston was one of the stops she made. Keeley re-traced Inga’s steps in 2018 and Preston was one of the places she fell in love with.
As an authority on the subject, Keeley recently appeared in Murder In The Badlands, a moving BBC documentary that explores Inga Maria’s tragic demise. A brand new film about Keeley’s involvement with the case is in development.
Two Lancashire-based bands are supporting KEELEY at The Ferret show. Sweet Knuckle from Blackpool – featuring former members of legendary Factory Records band Section 25 – and local Preston up-and-comers dead things.
