Preston M6 delays easing after crash between Junction 31 and Junction 30

There have been major delays on the M6 southbound after a crash between Junction 31 (Samlesbury) and Junction 30 (Bamber Bridge).

There are still delays of up to half-an-hour against normal traffic conditions according to National Highways North West.

Some motorists reported more than an hour’s delay after the crash shortly before 6pm on Tuesday (27 February).

Two lanes of the motorway southbound were closed while recovery vehicles worked to move the cars involved. All lanes were reopened shortly before 7pm.

At its peak there were six miles of congestion back to Junction 32 on the M6.

Delays are expected to be fully cleared by 8pm on Tuesday.
