A Preston band is playing a free gig tonight at Vinyl Tap.
All Hail Hyena decided to play the how after an Instagram reel went viral, hitting almost 15m views.
In the feel-good reel, posted in December, All Hail Hyena’s “number one fan” is surprised to find the band in his garden after they were asked to perform by his wife for their anniversary and birthday.
Rob, Tom and Jay of All Hail Hyena describe their sound as “wonky energetic ineffable pop music.”
GongMan, representing the band, said: “This will be the finest rock show in Preston in 2024, and it is only February.
“With over 13 million views on our birthday surprise video that has gone viral, we are excited to play our first live show since breaking the internet.”
If the reel doesn’t display below, watch it via @allhailhyena on Instagram.
Joining All Hail Hyena at Vinyl Tap on Friday 2 February are Preston band Zvilnik and Horsemeat from Manchester.
Zvilnik – Paddy on guitar, Claire on drums and Tom on bass – are known as “superconductors of eccentricity”.
A spokesperson for Zvilnik described the reel going viral as “the most thrilling thing to happen in Preston since that lad got his head stuck in a drain outside The Warehouse that time.”

Horsemeat – Rob on bass/vocals, Bert on guitar/vocals and Lewis on drums – make heavy complex grunge music that is the result of three men’s everyday frustrations boiling over.
They said: “We can’t wait to return to Preston with Zvilnik and All Hail Hyena. We always have a great time in Preston, it is a fantastic rock city and this is going to be epic.”
