A woman has set up free mental health classes to give back to her local community in Penwortham after receiving support when her father passed away.
Dr Jennifer Pulman’s dad passed away from Leukaemia in July when she channelled the feeling of grief into purpose and decided to help others with their mental health.
As a registered and qualified mental health psychologist practising for 10 years, she aims to provide free mental health resources host classes and establish a supportive online community across Preston and wider areas.

She said: “It has been influenced by the tremendous support my family received during our time of need.
“It’s my way of honouring the compassionate services such as St Catherine’s Home Support team and other charities that stepped in to assist us.
“Through this initiative, I hope to pay forward the kindness we experienced and create a lasting impact on the well-being of others.”
Jennifer believes that mental health services should be accessible to everyone, so all the resources and classes she is providing will be completely free, with no obligation to donate.
Based at Galloways, Howick House in Pnewortham, she’s hoping to create a space with no judgement, where people can learn, receive guidance and be part of a community whilst also giving back to mental health charities.
Jennifer added: “By dedicating time to this cause, I hope to contribute not only to individual well-being but also to the broader community, fostering a culture of generosity, compassion, and support.”
You can book your place here, with the first classes aimed at those struggling with low self-esteem, confidence issues or negative self-perception.
