Preston North End have revealed a limited edition shirt in memory of Sir Tom Finney.
The shirt will be worn in the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Middlesbrough at Deepdale on Wednesday 14 February – the 10th anniversary of Sir Tom’s passing.
Incorporating a splash design, the shirt is inspired by a famous photo taken at Stamford Bridge in 1956, which a statue at Deepdale is based on.
Underneath the neck collar on the back of the shirt reads ‘Sir Tom Finney’ plus the great man’s stats for his only club – 472 appearances and 210 goals.
A limited number of shirts will be available to buy from the store at Deepdale and the PNE online shop from 9am on Monday 5 February.
Each shirt will be priced at £70 for adults and £55 for juniors, with £10 of every sale going to the Preston branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Shirts will be available in women’s (8 to 20), men’s (S to 5XL) and junior (XS to XL) sizes.
