The M6 will be closed ‘for some time’ this evening while police deal with a serious crash.
Lancashire Constabulary is at the scene of a full closure on the northbound carriageway between junction 32 and 33. They first reported the incident at around 8.15pm this evening (February 17).

Police have said they expected the road to be closed for ‘some time’. There are reports of severe traffic northbound as a result of the incident. The motorway reopened around 11pm on Saturday evening.

Witnesses told Blog Preston there was also a significant North West Ambulance Service and Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service presence at the scene.
A spokesperson for police said: “We’re currently at the scene of a full closure on the M6 northbound from J32 to J33.
This is closed due to a road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time. We’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.”
