A man arrested following the firing of blanks from a gun in the London Road area on Tuesday morning.
Preston Police said a 42-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday (27 February) has now been detained under the Mental Health Act.
The firearms incident was focused on Salmon Street, off London Road, and lead to police also closing Adelaide Street and Cranborne Street too.

A police spokesperson said their investigation continued.
Superintendent Steve Rides of Preston Police said following the incident on Tuesday: “We are treating this as an isolated incident and we have a man in custody.
“You will see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate the circumstances of what happened and to provide reassurance to the public.
“As part of our investigations, we are asking for anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to contact us.
“If you witnessed the incident, please get in touch.”
